Port Canaveral, FL, (April 29, 2009) – The Monarch of the Seas is preparing to take 2,500 passengers on a music-filled vacation in the Caribbean. The Music Boat 2009 will be rocking the high seas for four days after setting sail on Monday, May 4th.
This will be the fourth voyage for Premier Christian Cruises' Music Boat, and this year offers the best lineup of artists ever. Performers on this year's Music Boat will be seen on four stages throughout the ship. Appearing are: MercyMe, tobyMac, Jars of Clay, David Crowder Band, Matthew West, NewSong, AATalks, BarlowGirl, Hawk Nelson, Pillar, The Katinas, Fee, 33 Miles, First Day, illusionist Brock Gill, and comedian troupe 321 Improv. In addition, speakers David Nasser and Jason McLeod will be on board, as well as VeggieTales and DonB for the kids.
2009 marks the first year that the Music Boat has sailed with Royal Caribbean, and the ship chosen to host this year's cruise, the Monarch of the Seas, was one of the very first "megaships" in the cruising industry. As such, there's no shortage of things to do, whether you want to relax in the sun or keep active. The ship boasts a wide array of dining choices, tons of activities for the athletically-inclined -- like the new state-of-the-art Day Spa and Fitness Center, or Royal Caribbean's signature Rock Wall -- and plenty of creature comforts like an onboard mini mall, youth facilities for kids, and Internet access throughout the ship.
The Music Boat 2009 will depart from Florida's Port Canaveral and sail on its first full day to Cococay®, a secluded island reserved exclusively for Royal Caribbean guests that includes fun water-based activities for the whole family to enjoy. From there, the ship will dock at Nassau, Bahamas, a popular destination for tourist attractions and a beach-lover's paradise.
